- Operate and maintain a multi-line telephone system for incoming and outgoing calls.
- Answer and direct calls in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring timely and accurate routing to the appropriate department or individual.
- Handle a high volume of calls and prioritize them based on urgency.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff members.
- Assist with making appointments and transferring calls to appropriate departments.
- Keep accurate records of calls and relay messages to the appropriate parties.
- Monitor and respond to emergency codes and alarms, following proper protocols.
- Troubleshoot telephone system issues and report any malfunctions or problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Remain knowledgeable about hospital services, policies, and procedures to effectively direct callers.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth communication flow.
- Participate in training and staying up-to-date with the latest technology and techniques.
- Ensure the telecommunication system is operating efficiently and report any necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Adhere to all hospital safety and infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the hospital.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As A Telecomm Operator At A Healthcare Facility
Proficiency In Operating And Troubleshooting Complex Telecommunication Equipment, Including Pbx Systems And Call Routing Software
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Experience In A Healthcare Setting
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Handle Sensitive And Urgent Calls With Professionalism And Empathy
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Multitask In A Fast-Paced Environment, While Maintaining Accuracy And Confidentiality Of Patient Information.
