
Pharmacy Drug Use Manager

- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the safe and effective use of medications within the organization.
- Monitor and evaluate medication use processes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate medication prescribing, dispensing, and administration.
- Provide leadership and support to pharmacy staff in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Conduct ongoing education and training for healthcare professionals on safe medication use, including appropriate storage, handling, and disposal.
- Oversee the medication reconciliation process to ensure accurate and complete medication histories for patients.
- Analyze medication error reports and implement interventions to prevent future occurrences.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in pharmacy practice and incorporate them into the organization's policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical companies to ensure timely and cost-effective access to medications.
- Participate in committees and task forces related to medication use and patient safety.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Information Technology and Quality Improvement, to develop and implement electronic systems and processes to enhance medication safety.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to medication use, including drug utilization and cost data.
- Serve as a resource for pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals on drug information and medication-related issues.
- Continuously evaluate the organization's medication use processes to identify and implement strategies for improvement.
- Act as a liaison between the pharmacy department and other departments within the organization to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) From An Accredited Institution.
Active And Unrestricted Pharmacist License In The State Of California.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Pharmacy Management Role, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Pharmacy Practice And Medication Management.
Excellent Communication, Leadership, And Problem-Solving Skills With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.
