Ortho Technician

- Assist orthopedic physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist with positioning and movement as directed by the physician.
- Set up and maintain orthopedic equipment and instruments for procedures.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Educate patients on post-procedure care and provide instructions for at-home exercises and activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper sterilization and disposal of equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals, such as nurses and physical therapists, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Keep accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all procedures, treatments, and medications administered.
- Attend training and educational opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge in the field of orthopedics.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety protocols and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, answering any questions and addressing concerns.
- Continuously assess and monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures, taking appropriate action if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or physician.
Certified Ortho Technician: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Current Ortho Technician Certification From An Accredited Program. This Will Ensure That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of The Job Effectively.
Previous Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As An Ortho Technician Is Preferred. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Familiarity With Orthopedic Procedures And Equipment, As Well As Their Ability To Handle Complex Cases.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: The Ortho Technician Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Related To Orthopedics. This Will Enable Them To Effectively Communicate With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Attention To Detail: The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Crucial In This Role. Ortho Technicians Are Responsible For Preparing And Maintaining Surgical Equipment, Which Requires A High Level Of Precision And Accuracy.
Interpersonal Skills: As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team, The Ortho Technician Must Have Excellent Interpersonal Skills. They Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Doctors, And Other Healthcare Professionals, So The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Work Well In A Team Setting Is Essential.
