
Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapy

- Provide high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in the Hand Therapy department.
- Conduct initial evaluations to assess patients' hand and upper extremity function and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administer appropriate therapeutic techniques and exercises to improve patients' range of motion, strength, and dexterity.
- Utilize specialized equipment and modalities to facilitate patients' recovery and improve function.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure a comprehensive treatment approach.
- Educate patients and their families on injury prevention and proper use of assistive devices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to all confidentiality and privacy regulations.
- Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to stay current on best practices and advancements in hand therapy.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations governing occupational therapy practice.
- Serve as a resource for colleagues, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain a compassionate and supportive attitude towards patients and their families, providing emotional support and encouragement throughout the treatment process.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Occupational Therapy From An Accredited Program.
Current License To Practice As An Occupational Therapist In The State Of California.
Certification In Hand Therapy From The Hand Therapy Certification Commission.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Hand Therapy, Preferably In A Hospital Or Medical Center Setting.
Knowledge Of Current Best Practices And Evidence-Based Interventions For Hand And Upper Extremity Rehabilitation.
