- Accurately code medical records for various specialties using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure proper code selection and documentation accuracy.
- Utilize current coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and obtain missing information.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in coding guidelines and regulations and apply them appropriately.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity while meeting coding deadlines.
- Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to resolve coding-related issues.
- Communicate coding guidelines and updates to healthcare providers and other relevant staff.
- Conduct regular audits to identify coding errors and provide feedback for improvement.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Train and mentor new coding staff as needed.
- Assist with special projects and participate in department meetings as required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of coding.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while providing excellent customer service.
- Adhere to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's policies and procedures.
Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From Aapc Or Ahima.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In Coding For Multiple Medical Specialties.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems.
Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.
Proficiency In Using Electronic Health Record (Ehr) And Coding Software, Such As Epic Or 3M.
