Establish and effectively execute department strategy and goals. Direct and audit payroll procedures to include earnings, garnishments, tax withholding, pay integration with state agencies as necessary, etc. Assist senior leadership in defining organizational goals and strategic plans related to system wide payroll operations. Lead project activities related to payroll functions bringing exceptional value to the organization through streamlining processes, automation, etc. Identify, evaluate and recommend information technology solutions to meet strategic objectives. Serve as the subject matter expert for the payroll system platform (Lawson). (Please note that the system is transitioning to Oracle). Ensure accurate and timely processing of the Company's payroll in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and legislative compliance requirements as well as barganing unit contractural obligations.
