- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the anesthesia department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement anesthesia plans for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to anesthesia services.
- Monitor and manage the utilization of anesthesia supplies, equipment, and medication to ensure adequate inventory levels and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate and assess the performance of CRNAs, providing feedback and coaching as needed to improve their skills and performance.
- Develop and implement protocols and guidelines for anesthesia services to improve patient outcomes and safety.
- Coordinate and participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new CRNAs.
- Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks to maintain high standards for anesthesia services.
- Serve as a liaison between the anesthesia department and other departments within the hospital to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in anesthesia techniques and equipment, and make recommendations for their implementation in the department.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that all patients receive compassionate and individualized care during their anesthesia experience.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and provide input on departmental policies and procedures to enhance the delivery of anesthesia services.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to anesthesia services, including patient documentation, staff schedules, and budgetary information.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among all members of the anesthesia department.
Current Certification As A Registered Nurse Anesthetist (Crna) By The National Board Of Certification And Recertification For Nurse Anesthetists (Nbcrna).
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Crna In A Hospital Or Medical Center Setting.
Hold A Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Nurse Anesthesia From An Accredited Program.
Strong Leadership Skills And Experience In Managing A Team Of Anesthesia Providers.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Current Policies, Procedures, And Regulations Related To Anesthesia Practice And Patient Care.
