- Oversee and manage daily operations of the Sterile Processing department.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including OSHA, FDA, and The Joint Commission.
- Implement and maintain effective processes and procedures for the cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of medical instruments and supplies.
- Collaborate with other departments and medical staff to ensure efficient and timely delivery of sterile supplies for patient care.
- Train and supervise staff members, providing ongoing support and feedback to ensure quality performance.
- Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate stock.
- Conduct regular quality control checks and audits to ensure adherence to standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate and resolve any issues or discrepancies in processing or supply distribution.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in sterilization techniques and equipment.

Certification In Sterile Processing: Candidates For The Assistant Manager Position At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Should Hold A Nationally Recognized Certification In Sterile Processing, Such As The Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or The Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt).
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or A Related Field Is Preferred For This Position. This Educational Background Will Provide The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Manage The Sterile Processing Department.
Previous Management Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Management Experience In A Sterile Processing Department. This Experience Should Include Managing Staff, Overseeing Processes And Procedures, And Ensuring Compliance With Regulatory Standards.
Knowledge Of Sterile Processing Techniques And Equipment: The Assistant Manager Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Sterile Processing Techniques And Equipment. This Includes Knowledge Of Sterilization Methods, Decontamination Procedures, And Maintenance Of Sterile Processing Equipment.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: The Assistant Manager At Cedars-Sinai Should Possess Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage The Sterile Processing Department.
