- Develop and drive the overall product strategy for Caterpillar, aligning it with the company's goals and objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities.
- Lead and manage a team of product managers to execute the product strategy and deliver innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure the successful development, launch, and commercialization of new products.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations for product enhancements.
- Work closely with suppliers and partners to source and develop new technologies and components for the product portfolio.
- Act as the subject matter expert for the product line, providing guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and manage product budgets, forecasts, and timelines to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to inform product development and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the product development process to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Extensive Experience In Product Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience In Product Management, Preferably In The Heavy Machinery Or Construction Equipment Industry. This Experience Should Include Leading Cross-Functional Teams And Managing Product Lifecycles.
Strong Leadership Skills: As A Principal Product Manager, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Product Managers And Working Closely With Other Departments Such As Engineering, Marketing, And Sales. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Others Are Essential Qualifications For This Role.
Technical Expertise: A Deep Understanding Of Heavy Machinery And Construction Equipment, Its Components, And Relevant Technologies Is Crucial For This Role. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Background In Engineering Or A Related Field And Be Able To Understand And Effectively Communicate Technical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
