  1. Develop innovative and efficient designs for Caterpillar's heavy equipment, using engineering principles and techniques.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and technicians, to ensure designs meet technical requirements and are feasible for production.
  3. Conduct research and analysis to identify industry trends and incorporate them into design concepts.
  4. Utilize CAD software to create 2D and 3D models of designs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  5. Perform rigorous testing and evaluate prototypes to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards.
  6. Continuously seek out opportunities for improvement and optimization of designs to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  7. Keep up-to-date with advancements in engineering technology and techniques, and apply them to design processes.
  8. Communicate design ideas and progress to stakeholders, including management and clients, through presentations and reports.
  9. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure designs can be produced within budget and on schedule.
  10. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior design engineers on design best practices and processes.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Design Engineering, Preferably In The Heavy Equipment Industry

  • Proficiency In Cad Software, Such As Solidworks Or Autocad

  • Knowledge Of Manufacturing Processes And Materials, With A Focus On Cost-Effective Designs

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills And Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, Team-Oriented Environment
