Look no further, because California State University, Northridge is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Theatre Stage Technician to join our team on a continuous basis. As a Stage Technician, you will play a vital role in the success of our productions, using your technical expertise and attention to detail to create unforgettable experiences for our audiences.   1. Collaborate with the production team to ensure the successful execution of all technical aspects of live theatre productions.
  2. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all stage equipment, including lighting, sound, rigging, and props.
  3. Assist with the load-in and load-out of scenery, props, and other production elements.
  4. Set up and operate lighting and sound systems for rehearsals and performances.
  5. Work closely with the stage manager and other crew members to ensure smooth and efficient scene changes and transitions.
  6. Communicate effectively with the production team to ensure proper execution of cues and changes during performances.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  8. Attend production meetings and provide input on technical aspects of the show.
  9. Train and supervise student crew members and volunteers.
  10. Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on stage equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  11. Keep an inventory of all stage equipment and supplies, and assist with purchasing new items when needed.
  12. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in stage technology.
  13. Adhere to all deadlines and schedules set by the production team.
  14. Assist with strike and cleanup after performances.
  15. Show a strong dedication to the mission and values of California State University, Northridge and the performing arts department.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Technical Theater Equipment And Systems: A Theatre Stage Technician At California State University, Northridge Should Be Well-Versed In The Operation And Maintenance Of Various Technical Equipment Such As Lighting, Sound, And Rigging Systems.

  • Experience With Theater Productions: Candidates Should Have Experience Working In A Theater Environment And Be Familiar With The Various Aspects Of Stage Production, Including Set Construction, Stage Management, And Lighting Design.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Member Of A Production Team, A Theatre Stage Technician Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Other Team Members And Collaborate On Tasks To Ensure A Successful Show.

  • Flexibility And Adaptability: Theatrical Productions Can Be Unpredictable, And A Theatre Stage Technician Must Be Able To Adapt To Last-Minute Changes And Problem-Solve Quickly To Keep The Show Running Smoothly.
