  1. Collaborate with the costume designer to bring their vision to life and ensure the overall aesthetic of the production.
  2. Construct, alter, and maintain costumes for theatrical productions, adhering to budget and timeline constraints.
  3. Source and acquire materials to create costumes based on the production's needs and specifications.
  4. Work closely with the production team to ensure costumes are functional and practical for performers.
  5. Conduct fittings and alterations for costumes, ensuring proper fit and comfort for performers.
  6. Assist in the organization and inventory of costumes, accessories, and materials.
  7. Research historical and cultural references to accurately portray characters through costume design.
  8. Remain up-to-date on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve and enhance costume designs.
  9. Communicate and collaborate effectively with fellow team members, performers, and production staff.
  10. Maintain a safe and organized work area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  11. Attend production meetings and rehearsals to provide support and make necessary adjustments to costumes as needed.
  12. Uphold the standards and vision of the theatre department through the execution of high-quality and professional costume designs.
  13. Demonstrate a passion for the performing arts and a dedication to delivering exceptional work to enhance the overall production experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Theatre Arts Or Related Field, With A Focus On Costume Design And Construction.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Costume Technician In A Professional Or Academic Theatre Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Costume Design And Construction Techniques, Including Sewing, Patternmaking, And Garment Alterations.

  • Familiarity With Theatrical Wardrobe Management And Maintenance, Including Inventory Tracking And Laundering Procedures.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With A Diverse Group Of Designers, Performers, And Technicians.
