  1. Develop and implement strategies for ensuring the safety and security of the university campus, including regular patrols and monitoring of campus facilities.
  2. Supervise and lead a team of patrol officers, ensuring that all duties and responsibilities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
  3. Respond to emergency situations and provide guidance and support to patrol officers in handling critical incidents.
  4. Maintain a strong presence on campus and establish positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff to promote a safe and welcoming environment.
  5. Conduct investigations and gather evidence related to incidents on campus, and collaborate with relevant authorities as needed.
  6. Develop and conduct training programs for patrol officers to ensure the highest level of professionalism and competence in their duties.
  7. Oversee the implementation and enforcement of campus safety policies and procedures.
  8. Manage and maintain patrol vehicles, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  9. Communicate effectively with other campus departments, local law enforcement agencies, and community organizations to promote a collaborative and cooperative approach to campus safety.
  10. Remain up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to campus safety and security, and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  11. Serve as a role model for patrol officers, demonstrating a commitment to integrity, professionalism, and exceptional service to the campus community.
  12. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, performance evaluations, and budget management for the patrol unit.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement, With At Least 2 Of Those Years In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice Or A Related Field.

  • Completion Of A Recognized Supervisory Training Program Or Certification.

  • Possession Of A Valid California Post Basic Certificate Or Ability To Obtain One Within 6 Months Of Hire.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Lead And Manage A Team Of Officers.
