Battery Operator

Change the batteries of the forklifts and pallet jacks. Keep a fully charged stock of batteries to ensure the timely changing of batteries. Perform preventative maintenance of C&S equipment. Provide support to the Maintenance Department when needed to ensure the mechanical aspects of C&S equipment are well cared for. There may be other projects/tasks assigned to you as needed by your supervisor; Perform other duties as assigned. As a Battery Operator, you are responsible for the repairing, recharging, and changing of industrial batteries from forklifts, pallet-jacks, and other industrial vehicles. Essential duties, other duties may be assigned. Disconnect electrical leads, remove battery from industrial lifts/Jack ect. And replace with fully charged battery ,attach dead battery to charger while manipulating controls of battery charger to start flow of electricity into dead battery. Check Fluid levels and specific gravity of cells as needed. Add water as needed and check acid with the use of hydrometer, thermometer to ensure fluid concentration meets specification.
