Job Description

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to help us build the next generation of machine learning tooling and infrastructure. In this role, you’ll operate as the ML platform lead for the entire ML function at BuzzFeed Inc. We need your help and expertise to build tools and platforms that allow data scientists and engineers alike to iterate quickly on training, evaluating, and deploying models. Your work will affect the way readers around the world experience the best content on the internet. Scope, identify and improve dev velocity across BuzzFeed’s strategic ML powered RecSys, Reinforcement Learning and NLP initiatives. Be the key partner for Director+ in crafting and evolving the team charter, strategy and OKRs and designing the technical vision & roadmap to support it. You are a passionate and empathetic engineer’s engineer who enjoys contributing to and leading multi quarter technical projects and working with data scientists & engineers at all levels. Adapt quickly to change and love to ship and iterate, building on insights and data. Mentor and onboard software engineers and data scientists to ML engineering best practices.

Job Qualifications

7+ years of experience building & shipping internet scale software infrastructure & systems.
2+ years of technical leadership experience mentoring and enrolling engineers in high quality and impactful projects.
2+ years of experience building ML platformic tools feature store, experimentation tracking, online, near-line and offline model deployments etc
