1. Develop and implement strategic partnerships with external accounting firms and other key financial stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.
2. Lead and manage the consolidation and reporting process for all BuzzFeed entities, including coordinating with various teams and departments to collect and analyze financial data.
3. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards, as well as internal policies and procedures.
4. Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
5. Continuously assess and improve consolidation processes, systems, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.
6. Monitor and analyze financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to support business initiatives and provide financial expertise.
8. Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and growth.
9. Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as auditors and tax advisors, to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and changes in accounting standards to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
11. Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy across all entities.
12. Play a key role in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
13. Act as a liaison between the finance team and other departments to ensure proper communication and understanding of financial data and processes.
14. Represent BuzzFeed in a professional and positive manner, promoting our values and mission to external stakeholders.
