Manage and maintain all digital imaging equipment on-set, including cameras, monitors, and storage devices.
Ensure all images and footage are captured, transferred, and backed up correctly and efficiently.
Collaborate with the director, cinematographer, and other crew members to understand the creative vision and technical requirements for each project.
Set up and calibrate equipment to achieve the desired look and feel of the project.
Monitor and adjust camera settings, exposure, and color temperature during filming.
Troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise with equipment or footage.
Maintain organized and detailed records of footage, including metadata and shot lists.
Work closely with the post-production team to ensure a smooth transition of footage and data for editing.
Stay up-to-date with new technology and industry trends related to digital imaging and equipment.
Communicate effectively with the rest of the production team to ensure a cohesive and efficient workflow.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures on-set.
Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and a keen eye for quality control.
Remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations, such as tight deadlines or technical difficulties.
Continuously strive for excellence and contribute to the overall success of the production.

Job Qualifications

Proficiency In Digital Imaging Software: A Qualified Digital Imaging Technician At Buzzfeed Should Have Advanced Skills In Software Such As Adobe Creative Suite, Davinci Resolve, And Redcine-X. They Should Also Be Well-Versed In Color Correction, Image Manipulation, And File Management.
Technical Knowledge Of Camera Equipment: As A Dit, One Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Cameras And Their Technical Specifications. This Includes Knowledge Of Codecs, Resolutions, Frame Rates, And Color Spaces. Experience With Cameras Such As Arri Alexa And Red Cameras Is Highly Preferred.
Attention To Detail: In This Role, The Dit Is Responsible For Ensuring The Quality And Accuracy Of All Digital Image Files. This Requires A Sharp Eye For Detail And The Ability To Identify And Correct Any Digital Artifacts Or Errors. A Keen Attention To Color And Composition Is Also Essential.
Strong Problem-Solving Skills: The Dit Is Often The First Line Of Defense In Case Of Technical Issues On Set. They Must Be Able To Troubleshoot Problems Quickly And Efficiently To Keep The Production Running Smoothly. This Requires A Strong Understanding Of Digital Imaging Technology And The Ability To Think On Their Feet.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Dit Works Closely With The Director Of Photography, Camera Department, And Post-Production Team. Effective Communication And Collaboration Are Critical To Ensure That The Digital Image Files Are Delivered On Time And Meet The Creative Vision Of The Project. The Ability To Work Well In A Team And Adapt To Changing Situations Is Essential For Success In This Role.
