  1. Maintain and enhance Brown University's technology infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of all systems.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot any issues or errors that may arise in the university's technology systems.
  3. Develop and implement new systems and technologies to improve the university's overall operations.
  4. Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless integration of technology systems.
  5. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the university's systems and processes.
  6. Create and maintain technical documentation for all systems and processes.
  7. Train and mentor junior systems administrators to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support the university's technology infrastructure.
  8. Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  9. Proactively identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for system upgrades or changes.
  10. Ensure all systems are secure and compliant with university policies and regulations.
  11. Manage and maintain network and server infrastructure.
  12. Collaborate with vendors and external partners to resolve any technical issues.
  13. Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for critical systems.
  14. Continuously monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
  15. Lead and participate in technology projects and initiatives to support the university's strategic goals.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Systems Administration, Preferably In A Higher Education Or Research Environment.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Linux And Windows Operating Systems, Virtualization Technologies, And Network Infrastructure.

  • Experience With Scripting And Automation Tools, Such As Python, Bash, Or Powershell.
