  1. Develop and implement strategies to support and enhance the research efforts of faculty and scholars at Brown University.
  2. Proactively identify funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships that align with the university's research goals and priorities.
  3. Collaborate with faculty and researchers to develop competitive grant proposals and ensure compliance with funding agency requirements.
  4. Provide guidance and support to faculty and researchers on budget development, project management, and research administration.
  5. Foster a culture of innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration by facilitating connections and partnerships between researchers across different departments and disciplines.
  6. Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in research funding and administration to inform decision making and improve processes.
  7. Serve as a liaison between the university and external funding agencies, representing Brown University's research capabilities and potential.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including faculty, department chairs, and research administrators.
  9. Collaborate with other departments and units within the university to promote and support interdisciplinary research initiatives.
  10. Provide training and resources to faculty and researchers on research development best practices and processes.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and ethical standards related to research development and administration.

  • Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field: A Research Development Manager At Brown University Should Possess A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In A Relevant Field, Such As Science, Engineering, Or Social Sciences. This Ensures That The Individual Has A Strong Foundation In Research Methods And Can Effectively Support Faculty In Securing Funding For Their Projects.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Grant Writing And Funding Strategies: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience With Grant Writing And Be Familiar With Various Funding Sources, Including Federal Agencies, Foundations, And Industry Partnerships.
