- Develop and implement strategies for discovering and accessing electronic resources to support the research and learning needs of students and faculty at Brown University.
- Manage the acquisition, licensing, and renewal of electronic resources, including negotiating contracts and pricing with vendors.
- Collaborate with library staff and faculty to evaluate and select electronic resources that align with the curriculum and research interests of the university.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in electronic resource management and make recommendations for new technologies or tools that could improve access for users.
- Provide training and support to students and faculty on how to effectively use electronic resources for their research and learning needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve access issues for electronic resources, working closely with vendors and library IT staff as needed.
- Create and maintain resource discovery tools, such as LibGuides or subject-specific databases, to help users easily find and access relevant electronic resources.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the management and use of electronic resources, ensuring compliance with copyright and licensing agreements.
- Collaborate with other library departments, such as cataloging and metadata services, to ensure accurate and timely access to electronic resources within the library's systems.
- Serve as a liaison to faculty and departments, providing updates and information on new and existing electronic resources and seeking feedback on their use and effectiveness.
- Analyze usage statistics and other data to inform decision-making and assess the impact of electronic resources on the university community.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with best practices and emerging trends in electronic resource management and access.
Master's Degree In Library And Information Science From An Ala-Accredited Institution.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Working With Electronic Resources In An Academic Library Setting.
Extensive Knowledge Of Current Trends And Best Practices In E-Resource Discovery And Access, Including Familiarity With Relevant Technologies And Tools.
Demonstrated Understanding Of Metadata Standards And Protocols, Such As Marc, Dublin Core, And Oai-Pmh.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Groups Of Stakeholders, Including Faculty, Students, And Library Staff.
