- Conduct regular maintenance and inspection of avionics systems and Flight Data Recorders (FDR) in compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with avionics systems and FDR, utilizing advanced knowledge and skills in electronic and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with other team members to perform repairs, replacements, and modifications to avionics equipment as needed.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities and ensure timely and accurate reporting to management.

Bachelor's Degree In Electrical Engineering Or A Related Field: A Technical Engineer - Avionics & Fdr At British Airways Should Have A Strong Educational Background In Electrical Engineering Or A Closely Related Field. This Provides A Solid Foundation In The Fundamental Principles Of Electronics And Helps The Engineer Understand The Complex Systems Involved In Avionics And Flight Data Recording.
Experience In Avionics And Flight Data Recording Systems: Candidates Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working With Avionics And Flight Data Recording Systems In The Aviation Industry. This Experience Should Include Maintenance, Troubleshooting, And Repair Of Various Avionics Systems Such As Communication, Navigation, And Surveillance Systems, As Well As Experience With Flight Data Recording Systems Such As Flight Data Recorders (Fdrs) And Quick Access Recorders (Qars).
Knowledge Of Relevant Industry Standards And Regulations: British Airways Operates Under Strict Regulatory Guidelines And It Is Crucial For A Technical Engineer - Avionics & Fdr To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Industry Standards And Regulations. This Includes Knowledge Of Regulatory Bodies Such As The Federal Aviation Administration (Faa) And The European Aviation Safety Agency (Easa), As Well As Standards Such As Do-178C And Do-254.
Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: Technical Engineers Must Be Able To Troubleshoot Complex Avionics And Fdr Systems And Quickly Identify And Resolve Issues. They Should Possess Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills To Effectively Diagnose And Resolve Technical Problems, As Well As The Ability To Think Critically And Make Sound Decisions Under Pressure.
