- Conduct regular inspections and evaluations of aircraft structures to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement maintenance and repair plans for aircraft structures, including identifying and addressing any structural issues or defects.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop and test new aircraft structures and modifications.
- Analyze and interpret technical data and reports to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Conduct thorough investigations and root cause analyses on structural failures or accidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Train and mentor junior technical engineers on best practices and procedures for maintaining aircraft structures.
- Monitor and manage the structural maintenance budget to ensure cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and regulations related to aircraft structures, and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any structural issues during flight operations.
- Communicate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of structural components.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to perform audits and inspections of structural maintenance processes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all structural maintenance activities and reports.
- Act as a technical expert and provide guidance and support to other departments on matters related to aircraft structures.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of structural maintenance operations.
Extensive Experience In Structural Engineering: A Senior Technical Engineer - Structures At British Airways Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Structural Engineering. They Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Structural Design Principles, Codes, And Standards.
Strong Knowledge Of Aircraft Structures: The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Aircraft Structures, Including Fuselage, Wings, And Landing Gear. They Should Have Experience In Designing And Analyzing These Structures For Different Types Of Aircraft.
Proficiency In Structural Analysis Software: A Senior Technical Engineer - Structures Should Be Proficient In Using Structural Analysis Software Such As Ansys, Msc Nastran, And Catia. They Should Have Experience In Performing Complex Structural Analyses And Interpreting The Results.
