- Develop contingency plans for potential disruptions to flight operations, such as weather events or technical issues.
- Continuously review and improve planning processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including air traffic control and other airlines, to coordinate flight schedules and resolve any conflicts.

- Stay informed about industry developments and regulatory changes that may impact flight operations, and make adjustments to schedules accordingly.
- Train and mentor junior planning engineers, providing guidance and support as needed.

- Adhere to all safety and security protocols to ensure the safe and secure operation of flights.
- Represent British Airways in a professional and positive manner, fostering strong relationships with customers and industry partners.
- Act as a subject matter expert on flight planning and operations, providing guidance and support to other departments as needed.
Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or Related Field: A Planning Engineer At British Airways Must Possess A Strong Educational Background In Engineering Or A Related Field To Be Able To Understand And Work With Complex Flight Schedules And Aircraft Maintenance Plans.
Previous Experience In A Similar Role: British Airways Requires Candidates To Have Previous Experience In A Planning Engineer Role, Preferably In The Aviation Industry. This Ensures That The Candidate Has An Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Regulations Involved In Planning For An Airline.
