- Lead and manage a team of scientists to execute biotransformation studies and experiments.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of biotransformation data and provide recommendations for drug development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology to ensure a comprehensive understanding of drug metabolism and potential drug-drug interactions.
- Design and oversee studies to evaluate the impact of biotransformation on drug efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and techniques in biotransformation and incorporate them into drug development strategies.
- Effectively communicate biotransformation data and findings to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior scientists in the biotransformation team.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as CROs, to support biotransformation studies.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory documents and participate in meetings with regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry regulations and guidelines in all biotransformation activities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve biotransformation processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Act as a subject matter expert on biotransformation within the company and represent the company at conferences and scientific meetings.
Advanced Degree In Biochemistry, Chemistry, Or Related Field: A Principal Scientist At Bristol-Myers Squibb Would Be Expected To Have A Minimum Of A Phd In Biochemistry, Chemistry, Or A Related Field. This Advanced Degree Demonstrates A Deep Understanding Of The Principles And Techniques Used In Biotransformation Research.
Extensive Experience In Biotransformation Research: The Ideal Candidate Would Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Biotransformation Research, Either In An Academic Or Industry Setting. This Experience Should Include A Strong Track Record Of Publications And Patents In The Field Of Biotransformation.
Leadership And Management Skills: As A Principal Scientist, The Candidate Would Be Expected To Lead And Manage A Team Of Scientists In The Biotransformation Department. Therefore, Strong Leadership And Management Skills Are Essential For This Role, Including The Ability To Motivate And Mentor Team Members.
