- Conduct audits of BP's internal controls to evaluate their effectiveness and identify any potential areas of risk or non-compliance with SOX regulations.
- Review and test financial documents, processes, and systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with SOX requirements.
- Develop and implement audit plans and procedures to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and make recommendations for improvements.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to management and collaborate with them to develop action plans for addressing any identified issues.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in SOX regulations and incorporate them into audit processes and procedures.
- Lead and supervise a team of auditors, providing guidance, mentoring, and training as needed.
- Work closely with other departments, including finance, legal, and IT, to coordinate and execute audits in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communicate effectively with external auditors and regulators to provide necessary information and support for their reviews.
- Maintain accurate and organized audit documentation and reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives related to risk management and internal controls as needed.
Strong Understanding Of Sarbanes-Oxley (Sox) Regulations: The Senior Sox Auditor At Bp Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Sox Regulations And Their Impact On The Organization's Financial Reporting Processes.
Extensive Audit Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In Internal Or External Auditing, Including Experience In Sox Compliance Audits.
Cpa Or Cia Certification: A Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Or Certified Internal Auditor (Cia) Certification Is Highly Preferred For This Role, Demonstrating A Strong Knowledge Of Accounting Principles And Internal Controls.
Oil And Gas Industry Experience: Familiarity With The Oil And Gas Industry, Including Understanding Of Its Unique Risks And Challenges, Is Crucial For A Senior Sox Auditor At Bp.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Role Of A Senior Sox Auditor Involves Analyzing Complex Financial Data, Identifying Control Deficiencies, And Recommending Solutions. Therefore, Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills Are Essential For This Position.
