  1. Conduct thorough and regular inspections of BP assets to identify any potential materials or corrosion issues.
  2. Develop and implement effective corrosion prevention and mitigation strategies to ensure the integrity and longevity of BP assets.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot complex materials and corrosion issues.
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in materials, corrosion, and inspection technologies to continuously improve BP’s practices and procedures.
  5. Lead and mentor junior engineers in the areas of materials, corrosion, and inspection, providing guidance and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
  6. Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to mitigate potential safety hazards.
  7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies and equipment suppliers, to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  8. Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations to senior management, highlighting potential areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  9. Monitor and analyze data from inspection reports and work with operations teams to develop and implement maintenance plans.
  10. Act as a subject matter expert for all materials, corrosion, and inspection related matters, providing guidance and support to all levels of the organization.
  11. Collaborate with project teams to ensure materials, corrosion, and inspection requirements are incorporated into new asset designs and construction plans.
  12. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice in relation to materials, corrosion, and inspection.
  13. Participate in incident investigations and provide technical expertise to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  14. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures related to materials, corrosion, and inspection to increase efficiency and performance.
  15. Foster a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement within the materials, corrosion, and inspection team and the wider organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Engineering: A Senior Materials, Corrosion & Inspection Engineer At Bp Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Engineering Field Such As Mechanical, Materials, Or Chemical Engineering. A Higher Degree Such As A Master's Or Phd Is Preferred.

  • Extensive Experience In Materials And Corrosion Management: Candidates Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Materials And Corrosion Management, Preferably In The Oil And Gas Industry. They Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Corrosion Mechanisms, Material Selection, And Inspection Techniques.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Regulations: Bp Is A Large Multinational Company With Operations In Various Countries. A Senior Materials, Corrosion & Inspection Engineer Should Be Well-Versed In Relevant Industry Standards And Regulations, Such As Api, Asme, And Nace, To Ensure Compliance And Safety.

  • Leadership And Project Management Skills: As A Senior Role, The Candidate Should Have Experience Leading And Managing A Team Of Engineers. They Should Also Have Strong Project Management Skills, Including The Ability To Plan, Execute, And Monitor Projects Within Set Timelines And Budgets.

  • Strong Communication And Problem-Solving Abilities: Effective Communication Is Crucial In This Role As The Engineer Will Be Required To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Project Managers, Contractors, And Regulatory Bodies. They Should Also Possess Excellent Problem-Solving Skills To Identify And Address Material And Corrosion-Related Issues In A Timely And Efficient Manner.
