  1. Conduct materials testing and analysis to identify potential corrosion risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate materials selection for new projects and equipment, considering factors such as cost, performance, and environmental impact.
  3. Develop and implement corrosion control plans for existing assets, including monitoring and inspection programs.
  4. Evaluate and recommend materials and coatings for use in challenging environments or corrosive conditions.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in materials science and corrosion prevention to continuously improve our processes and procedures.
  6. Conduct failure investigations and root cause analyses to identify and address any materials or corrosion-related issues.
  7. Provide technical expertise and support to internal stakeholders, including project managers, operations personnel, and maintenance teams.
  8. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations related to materials and corrosion.
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality and reliability of materials used in our operations.
  10. Proactively identify and address potential risks and hazards related to materials and corrosion, and make recommendations for preventative measures.
  11. Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on materials and corrosion best practices and procedures.
  12. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management, to provide updates on materials and corrosion-related issues and initiatives.
  13. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to continuously improve our processes and procedures related to materials and corrosion management.
  14. Adhere to BP's safety policies and procedures and ensure all work is carried out with the highest regard for health, safety, and environmental standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Materials Science, Metallurgy, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Materials And Corrosion Engineering Role, Preferably In The Oil And Gas Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Corrosion Mechanisms And Mitigation Techniques For Various Materials.

  • Familiarity With Industry Standards And Regulations Related To Materials Selection And Corrosion Control.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Make Data-Driven Decisions And Provide Recommendations For Improvement.
