- Monitor and patrol the outlet store to prevent theft and ensure the safety of our customers and employees
- Conduct thorough bag checks and inspections of merchandise leaving the store to prevent shoplifting
- Collaborate with management and other team members to identify and address potential security risks
- Use CCTV and other security equipment to monitor and identify any suspicious behavior or activity
- Train and educate store associates on theft prevention techniques and procedures
- Respond to and handle any security incidents or emergencies in a calm and professional manner
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of any security incidents or thefts
- Regularly review and update security procedures to ensure the safety and security of the store and its merchandise
- Conduct investigations and interviews as needed in order to identify and apprehend suspected shoplifters
- Communicate effectively with law enforcement and other external agencies when necessary
- Assist with inventory control by conducting regular audits and identifying potential inventory discrepancies
- Continuously monitor and report on any potential safety hazards within the store
- Act as a positive and professional representative of the Bloomingdale's brand at all times.
Knowledge Of Loss Prevention Techniques: A Successful Asset Protection Outlet Associate At Bloomingdale's Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Loss Prevention Techniques, Including Surveillance Methods, Inventory Management, And Store Policies And Procedures.
Attention To Detail: This Role Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Accurately Monitor And Identify Potential Security Risks And Theft Situations. Being Able To Notice Small Discrepancies And Patterns Is Crucial For Success In This Position.
Strong Communication Skills: As An Asset Protection Outlet Associate, Effective Communication Is Essential When Working With Other Team Members, Store Management, And Customers. This Includes Being Able To De-Escalate Potential Theft Situations And Effectively Report Incidents To Store Management.
Ability To Work Independently: This Role May Require Working Long Hours, Standing For Extended Periods, And Being Self-Motivated. A Successful Candidate Should Be Able To Work Independently And Make Sound Decisions In High-Pressure Situations.
Prior Experience In Loss Prevention: While Not Always Required, Prior Experience In Loss Prevention Or Security Is Highly Valued For This Role. This Could Include Previous Work In Retail Security, Law Enforcement, Or Military Experience. Familiarity With Surveillance Equipment And Knowledge Of Criminal Behavior Is Also Beneficial.
