  1. Operate and maintain the central utility plant to ensure efficient and effective operation of campus facilities.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical systems, including boilers, chillers, pumps, and HVAC systems.
  3. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning properly and address any issues in a timely manner.
  4. Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance requests in a prompt and efficient manner.
  5. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the facilities team to prioritize and coordinate maintenance and repair tasks.
  7. Monitor energy consumption and make recommendations for energy efficiency improvements.
  8. Comply with all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  9. Stay current on industry trends and advancements in central plant operations.
  10. Demonstrate a strong commitment to the Christian mission and values of Biola University in all aspects of the job.
  11. Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff by responding to inquiries and requests in a friendly and professional manner.
  12. Assist with training and mentoring new central plant operators as needed.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the central utility plant.
  14. Continuously evaluate and suggest ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the central plant operations.
  15. Attend staff meetings and participate in campus-wide events as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Operating And Maintaining Central Plant Equipment Such As Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, And Hvac Systems.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Regulations And Procedures For Working With Hazardous Materials And Operating Heavy Machinery.

  • Technical Skills In Troubleshooting And Repairing Mechanical, Electrical, And Plumbing Systems.
