We are currently seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to join our esteemed Department of Communication Studies, specifically in the field of Public Relations. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will have the opportunity to shape and inspire the next generation of PR professionals while being a part of a supportive and collaborative community. We are looking for individuals who are not only highly qualified in their field, but also have a passion for teaching, mentoring, and guiding students.   1. Develop and teach courses in Public Relations within the Department of Communication Studies.
  2. Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of Public Relations.
  3. Create and implement lesson plans that align with the department's curriculum and learning objectives.
  4. Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and class participation.
  5. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and discussion.
  6. Mentor and advise students on academic and career goals, providing guidance and support.
  7. Keep up to date with industry trends and developments in Public Relations to ensure course material is relevant and current.
  8. Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to enhance the overall learning experience for students.
  9. Participate in department meetings and professional development opportunities to contribute to the growth and success of the program.
  10. Maintain open and effective communication with students, colleagues, and university administrators.
  11. Uphold and promote the values and mission of Biola University, including its Christian faith-based principles.
  12. Serve as a role model and mentor to students, demonstrating professionalism and ethical behavior in all interactions.
  13. Continuously seek ways to improve teaching methods and incorporate innovative approaches to enhance the learning experience.
  14. Act as an ambassador for the Department of Communication Studies and Biola University, promoting the program and recruiting potential students.
  15. Adhere to all university policies and procedures, including those related to grading, attendance, and academic integrity.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Public Relations, Communication, Or A Related Field.

  • Previous Experience Teaching At The Collegiate Level, Preferably In Public Relations Or Related Field.

  • Demonstrated Expertise And Professional Experience In The Field Of Public Relations, Including Experience Working With Various Media Platforms.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With A Passion For Teaching And Mentoring Students.

  • A Strong Commitment To The Mission And Values Of Biola University, Including A Desire To Integrate Faith And Learning In The Classroom.
