  1. Provide compassionate and exceptional care to patients with mental health needs.
  2. Assist patients with daily activities and provide emotional support.
  3. Work closely with the psychiatric team to develop and implement treatment plans.
  4. Monitor patients for any changes in behavior or symptoms and report to the appropriate staff.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the medical team.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
  7. Ensure the safety and well-being of patients at all times.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  9. Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  11. Continuously strive to improve patient care and advocate for the needs of patients.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  13. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  14. Stay updated on advancements and changes in the mental health field.
  15. Demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health disorders and their impact on patients.
  16. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Qualifications

  • Education And Training: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, But A Post-Secondary Certificate Or Associate's Degree In A Related Field Such As Mental Health Technology Or Nursing Is Preferred.

  • Experience In Mental Health Care: Previous Experience Working In A Mental Health Setting, Such As A Psychiatric Hospital Or Behavioral Health Clinic, Is Highly Desirable. This May Include Experience As A Certified Nursing Assistant Or In A Similar Direct Patient Care Role.

  • Knowledge Of Mental Health Disorders And Treatments: A Strong Understanding Of Various Mental Health Disorders, Their Symptoms, And Treatments Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Also Be Familiar With Psychotropic Medications And Their Potential Side Effects.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Team Members. The Ability To Remain Calm And Empathetic In Emotionally Charged Situations Is Also Crucial.

  • Certification: A Valid Certification As A Psychiatric Technician Or Mental Health Technician Is Preferred, But Not Required. Candidates With A Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Will Also Be Given Preference.
