- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Specialty Pharmacy department, including dispensing medications, overseeing inventory, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide specialized pharmaceutical care to patients with complex medical conditions, including monitoring medication therapy and providing patient education.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex medical conditions.
- Stay up-to-date with new medications, treatments, and regulations related to specialty pharmacy, and incorporate this knowledge into daily practice.
- Participate in quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulations.
- Work closely with insurance companies and third-party payers to ensure timely and accurate processing of medication orders.
- Train and mentor pharmacy staff on best practices for specialty pharmacy services.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and make recommendations for treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to ensure understanding and adherence to treatment plans.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to identify and resolve medication-related problems.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the Specialty Pharmacy program to meet the needs of patients and the organization.
- Participate in relevant professional development opportunities to stay current in the field of specialty pharmacy.
- Act as a patient advocate and ensure that all patients receive the highest quality of care and service.
Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited University.
Current State Pharmacy License And Eligibility For Licensure In The State Of Montana.
Board Certification In A Specialty Area Such As Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Or Critical Care.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Specialty Pharmacy Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Specialty Medication Therapies, Patient Counseling, And Insurance Reimbursement Processes.
