As a Financial Counselor, you will have the opportunity to provide valuable guidance and support to patients and their families during a difficult and challenging time.   1. Develop and implement financial counseling strategies and programs for patients and families facing cancer.
  2. Provide guidance and support to patients in understanding their financial responsibilities and options, including insurance coverage and payment plans.
  3. Conduct financial assessments and create personalized financial plans for patients based on their individual needs and resources.
  4. Work closely with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Maintain accurate and organized records of patient financial information and communicate updates to relevant parties.
  6. Stay up-to-date on changes in insurance policies and regulations to effectively navigate the insurance process for patients.
  7. Advocate on behalf of patients to insurance companies and other financial institutions to ensure fair and timely resolution of financial matters.
  8. Collaborate with community resources and organizations to provide additional financial support and resources for patients.
  9. Communicate with patients and their families in a compassionate and empathetic manner, providing emotional support in addition to financial guidance.
  10. Participate in training and educational opportunities to continuously improve knowledge and skills in financial counseling and cancer care.

Job Qualifications
  • Degree In Finance Or Related Field: A Financial Counselor At Billings Clinic Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Or A Related Field. This Will Ensure The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Financial Principles And Can Effectively Advise Patients On Financial Matters.

  • Experience In Healthcare Finance: Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Particularly In A Cancer Center, Will Be Highly Valued. This Experience Will Give The Candidate A Better Understanding Of The Unique Financial Challenges Faced By Cancer Patients And How To Navigate Them.

  • Knowledge Of Insurance And Billing Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Insurance Policies, Billing Procedures, And Reimbursement Processes. This Will Enable Them To Help Patients Understand Their Insurance Coverage And Assist Them In Resolving Any Billing Issues.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Financial Counselors At Billings Clinic Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate Complex Financial Information To Patients In A Clear And Compassionate Manner. They Should Also Have Excellent Interpersonal Skills To Build Rapport And Trust With Patients During A Difficult Time.

  • Empathy And Sensitivity: Dealing With Cancer Patients Requires A High Level Of Empathy And Sensitivity. The Financial Counselor Should Have A Compassionate And Understanding Demeanor, And Be Able To Provide Emotional Support To Patients While Helping Them Navigate Their Financial Concerns.
