Job Description

Are you a passionate, customer-oriented retail professional looking to join a team that values your expertise and rewards your hard work? Big Lots is looking for a Retail Store Associate to join our team and bring their enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent customer service skills to our stores. As a Retail Store Associate, you will be an integral part of the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring we meet our customers’ needs and providing them with an exceptional shopping experience. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high-school diploma or equivalent, experience in retail customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and have a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities:

  1. Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner.
  2. Process customer purchases and answer questions regarding products, prices, availability, product uses, and payment options.
  3. Maintain a neat and organized store environment.
  4. Restock shelves as needed and perform inventory checks.
  5. Participate in store promotions and special events.
  6. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  7. Assist in training new employees and providing guidance on customer service.
  8. Lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and have a valid driver’s license.
