Job Description

Are you an experienced and detail-oriented Merchandise Coordinator looking for a challenge? Big Lots is the place for you. We are looking for an organized individual to join our team and help manage our merchandise and supplies. As the Merchandise Coordinator, you will be responsible for the daily coordination of purchasing, ordering, and distribution of merchandise and supplies for the company.The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be able to manage multiple tasks, and have a strong attention to detail. We are looking for someone with at least two years of experience in a similar role, familiarity with the merchandise industry, and the ability to work within tight deadlines. Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate daily purchasing, ordering, and distribution of merchandise and supplies
  2. Maintain accurate records of purchased items
  3. Monitor inventory levels of merchandise and supplies
  4. Establish relationships with vendors and suppliers
  5. Negotiate prices and contracts with vendors
  6. Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction and inventory control
  7. Analyze sales data and market trends to determine purchasing and stocking needs
  8. Liaise with other departments to ensure merchandise is distributed and delivered on time
  9. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
  10. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
