Job Description

At Big Lots, our Merchandise Coordinators play an essential role in ensuring our customers have the best shopping experience. We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team and help us keep our shelves stocked with the latest and greatest products. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and organizational skills as well as a strong knowledge of product lines and trends. They must also be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and have the ability to multitask. Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of merchandise lines and trends in order to advise customers and staff on the latest and best products.
  2. Collaborate with other Merchandise Coordinators to ensure shelves are adequately stocked with merchandise.
  3. Receive and process new shipments of inventory from vendors and suppliers.
  4. Monitor inventory levels and order additional stock as needed.
  5. Develop strategies to promote and increase sales of certain merchandise.
  6. Add new merchandise items to the store’s online catalog.
  7. Assist customers with product selection and provide information about products.
  8. Provide exceptional customer service that exceeds customer expectations.
  9. Monitor and maintain the store’s visual standards and merchandising displays.
  10. Resolve customer complaints and requests in a timely manner.
