Job Description

As an energetic and highly organized Merchandise Coordinator at Big Lots, you'll be a key part of our exciting and dynamic team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that our stores have the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time. With your keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills, you’ll be making sure that our expansive inventory is managed and distributed efficiently. To excel in this role, you’ll need a minimum of three years of experience in retail or inventory management, plus a degree in business or a related field. You’ll need to be comfortable with the latest technologies, and have strong problem-solving and communication skills. A demonstrated history of success in a customer-oriented role is essential, as is an ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and distribute inventory to ensure that stores have the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time.
  2. Utilize the latest technologies to ensure efficient organization and management of inventory.
  3. Maintain detailed records of inventory, including quantities, locations, and stock levels.
  4. Work independently and as part of a team to improve customer service.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and order new products when needed.
  6. Develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure product availability and cost efficiency.
  7. Analyze customer needs and provide accurate product and pricing information.
  8. Utilize problem-solving and communication skills to resolve customer issues.
  9. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  10. Stay up-to-date on current industry trends.
