Oversee and manage the freight processing team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing merchandise.
Develop and implement efficient and effective processes for receiving, sorting, and stocking merchandise.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure accurate and timely replenishment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any supply chain issues or delays.
Train and mentor team members on proper handling and processing of merchandise.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Create and maintain schedules for the freight processing team to ensure adequate coverage and productivity.
Communicate with vendors and carriers to coordinate and track inbound and outbound shipments.
Monitor and track freight costs to ensure compliance with company budget and goals.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in freight logistics and supply chain management.
Lead by example and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Handle any escalated issues or concerns related to freight processing.
Report on team performance and provide regular updates to management.

Job Qualifications

Experience In Freight Processing: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In A Retail Or Warehouse Environment. They Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Freight Handling Procedures And Be Able To Efficiently Process And Organize Incoming And Outgoing Shipments.
Leadership Skills: The Freight Processing Lead Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Freight Processors And Ensuring That All Tasks Are Completed Accurately And On Time. Candidates Should Have Previous Leadership Experience And Possess Strong Communication, Problem-Solving, And Decision-Making Skills.
Organization And Time Management: This Role Requires The Ability To Prioritize And Delegate Tasks Effectively, As Well As Manage Multiple Shipments And Deadlines. Candidates Should Be Highly Organized, Detail-Oriented, And Able To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment.
Physical Ability: The Job Of A Freight Processing Lead Involves A Significant Amount Of Physical Labor, Including Lifting And Moving Heavy Boxes And Merchandise. Candidates Should Be Able To Lift Up To 50 Pounds And Be Comfortable Standing, Walking, And Bending For Extended Periods Of Time.
Knowledge Of Safety And Compliance Regulations: The Freight Processing Lead Is Responsible For Ensuring That All Freight Processing Activities Comply With Safety Regulations And Company Policies. Candidates Should Have A Good Understanding Of Safety Procedures, As Well As Knowledge Of Shipping And Receiving Regulations And Protocols.
