Oversee the timely and efficient processing of merchandise in our stores.
Coordinate the flow of freight to ensure timely delivery and placement.
Ensure accurate receiving, sorting, and placement of merchandise on the sales floor.
Lead a team of freight processors and delegate tasks to ensure efficient operations.
Train and mentor team members on proper freight processing procedures.
Maintain organization and cleanliness in the freight processing area.
Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies to management.
Address any issues or delays in the processing of merchandise in a timely manner.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and efficiency in freight processing.
Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to streamline processes.
Communicate effectively with management regarding any issues or concerns.
Stay up-to-date on company policies and procedures related to freight processing.

Job Qualifications

Experience In Freight Processing: The Ideal Candidate For A Freight Processing Lead Position At Big Lots Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, With A Strong Understanding Of Freight Handling Procedures And Warehouse Operations.
Leadership Skills: As A Freight Processing Lead, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Associates And Overseeing The Entire Freight Processing Process. Strong Organizational Skills Are Crucial In This Role.
Physical Stamina: This Position Requires A Significant Amount Of Physical Activity, Including Lifting And Moving Heavy Boxes And Merchandise. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In The Freight Processing Process To Ensure That All Merchandise Is Received, Counted, And Put Away Correctly. The Freight Processing Lead Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify And Resolve Any Discrepancies Or Issues That May Arise.
