  1. Oversee the timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing freight.
  2. Ensure that all freight is processed according to company standards and procedures.
  3. Monitor inventory levels and communicate any discrepancies to management.
  4. Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective flow of merchandise.
  5. Train and develop team members to ensure they are knowledgeable and skilled in freight processing.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to optimize productivity and safety.
  7. Utilize company systems to track and manage inventory levels.
  8. Communicate with vendors and carriers to resolve any issues with incoming shipments.
  9. Collaborate with store management to develop and implement strategies for efficient freight processing.
  10. Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  11. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to freight processing.
  12. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  13. Oversee the proper handling and storage of merchandise to prevent damage or loss.
  14. Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed to maintain a safe work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Freight Processing: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In Processing And Managing Freight In A Retail Or Warehouse Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Inventory Management: A Strong Understanding Of Inventory Management Principles And Practices Is Necessary For A Freight Processing Lead To Effectively Manage And Track Incoming And Outgoing Shipments.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: As A Lead, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Supervising And Training A Team Of Freight Processors. Therefore, Excellent Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Delegate Tasks And Provide Guidance, Are Crucial For This Role.

  • Attention To Detail: The Freight Processing Lead Will Be Responsible For Ensuring That All Incoming Freight Is Accurately Received, Sorted, And Distributed. Attention To Detail Is Essential To Avoid Errors And Maintain Accurate Inventory Records.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Big Lots Is A High-Volume Retail Store, And The Freight Processing Lead Will Be Responsible For Managing A Large Volume Of Incoming And Outgoing Merchandise. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Work Efficiently And Remain Calm Under Pressure.
