- Oversee the daily operations of the freight processing department, including receiving, organizing, and stocking merchandise
- Ensure all freight is efficiently and accurately received, sorted, and processed according to company standards and procedures
- Train and lead a team of freight processors, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure productivity and efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management regarding any discrepancies or issues
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure timely and accurate processing of merchandise
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines
- Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity and streamline processes within the freight processing department
- Communicate with vendors and carriers regarding deliveries and shipments
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with management regarding any operational challenges or opportunities for improvement
- Continuously update and maintain knowledge of product flow, inventory levels, and company procedures.
Experience In Freight Processing: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In Freight Processing, Preferably In A Retail Setting.
Strong Leadership Skills: As A Freight Processing Lead, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Freight Processors. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills Are Essential To Effectively Delegate Tasks, Provide Direction, And Motivate The Team.
Organizational Skills: Freight Processing Leads Are Responsible For Ensuring That All Incoming Merchandise Is Properly Sorted, Labeled, And Stored. This Requires Strong Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail.
Ability To Operate Equipment: Freight Processing Leads Should Be Comfortable Operating Equipment Such As Pallet Jacks, Forklifts, And Hand Trucks. Prior Experience And/Or Certification In Operating This Equipment Is Preferred.
Physical Stamina: This Job Requires Frequent Lifting, Bending, And Standing For Extended Periods Of Time. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.
