Oversee the receiving and processing of freight shipments in a timely and efficient manner.
Train and lead a team of freight processing associates to ensure proper handling and placement of merchandise.
Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to safety and operational standards.
Communicate with store management and other departments to ensure proper coordination of merchandise flow.
Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate tracking and recording of received merchandise.
Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of inventory and proper handling of merchandise.
Resolve any issues or discrepancies with received merchandise in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting with any merchandise inquiries or concerns.
Monitor and maintain supply levels for the receiving area and coordinate with store management for replenishment.
Proactively identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity within the freight processing department.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Assist with other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by store management.

Job Qualifications

Prior Experience In Freight Processing: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Would Have Previous Experience In Freight Processing, Preferably In A Retail Or Warehouse Setting. This Would Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of The Process And Procedures Involved In Efficiently Handling And Organizing Incoming Shipments.
Strong Organizational Skills: The Freight Processing Lead Will Be Responsible For Overseeing The Organization And Flow Of Incoming Freight. Therefore, They Should Possess Strong Organizational Skills To Ensure That All Shipments Are Properly Sorted, Labeled, And Stored In The Designated Areas.
Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In This Role As The Freight Processing Lead Will Be Responsible For Coordinating With Other Team Members, As Well As External Vendors And Suppliers. They Should Be Able To Clearly And Concisely Convey Information And Instructions To Ensure Smooth Operations.
Leadership Abilities: As A Lead Position, The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills. They Should Be Able To Motivate And Guide A Team Of Freight Processors, Delegate Tasks Effectively, And Ensure That All Tasks Are Completed Efficiently And Accurately.
Physical Stamina: Freight Processing Can Be Physically Demanding, Involving Heavy Lifting, Standing For Long Periods, And Working In A Fast-Paced Environment. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job With Ease.
