Big Lots is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Freight Processing Lead who can ensure efficiency and accuracy of freight processes in our fast-paced distribution center.In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient processing of all freight received and shipped from the distribution center. You will lead a team to manage the efficient operation and productivity of the department, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a freight processing role, as well as strong organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the freight processing department.
- Lead a team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of all freight shipments.
- Monitor team performance and productivity, providing coaching and guidance as necessary.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Review and analyze freight data to ensure accuracy of shipment information.
- Act as a liaison between the freight processing department and other departments.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper training of team members to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain effective communication with team members and other departments.
- Monitor inventory levels and stock replenishment as needed.
