Job Description

Welcome to Big Lots, a leading retail company with over 1,400 stores nationwide. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced District Manager to join our team. As a District Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales, managing operations, and developing talent within your assigned district.   1. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales and meet financial goals within the assigned district.
  2. Train, coach, and mentor store managers and their teams to ensure consistent and high-quality customer service.
  3. Monitor and analyze district sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and take necessary action to achieve sales targets.
  4. Oversee and manage district operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and store maintenance.
  5. Conduct regular store visits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
  7. Hire, train, and develop high-performing store management teams.
  8. Ensure proper staffing levels and scheduling to meet business needs.
  9. Communicate effectively with corporate leadership and provide updates on district performance.
  10. Manage district budget and expenses, including labor costs, supplies, and other operational expenses.
  11. Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and external partners.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and competition within the retail market.
  13. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment for all team members.
  14. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  15. Travel to various stores within the district as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Retail Management: A District Manager At Big Lots Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Multiple Retail Locations And Driving Sales Growth. Previous Experience In A Similar Role Is Highly Desirable.
