Job Description

Welcome to Big Lots! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced District Manager to join our team. As a District Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the operations of multiple store locations within your assigned district. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about retail and has a proven track record of driving sales, managing budgets, and developing successful teams. If you have a strong business acumen, excellent leadership skills, and a drive for results, we want to hear from you!

  1. Oversee Operations: The District Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all store locations within their assigned district. This includes ensuring that each store is following company policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and providing excellent customer service.
  2. Drive Sales: The District Manager will be responsible for driving sales within their district. This includes analyzing sales data, identifying trends, and implementing strategies to increase sales. The District Manager will also work closely with store managers to develop sales goals and objectives and provide guidance and support in achieving them.
  3. Manage Budgets: The District Manager will be responsible for managing the budgets for each store within their district. This includes monitoring expenses, identifying areas for cost savings, and ensuring that each store is operating within their allocated budget.
  4. Develop Teams: The District Manager will be responsible for developing and leading successful teams within their district. This includes recruiting, hiring, and training store managers and associates, as well as providing ongoing coaching and development opportunities to help them reach their full potential.
  5. Ensure Compliance: The District Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all stores within their district are in compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations. This includes conducting regular audits and inspections to identify any areas of non-compliance and taking corrective action as needed.
  6. Maintain Communication: The District Manager will serve as the main point of contact between corporate headquarters and the stores within their district. They will be responsible for communicating company updates, policies, and procedures to store managers and ensuring that all stores are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  7. Monitor Performance: The District Manager will be responsible for monitoring the performance of each store within their district. This includes conducting regular performance reviews and implementing strategies to improve performance and achieve goals.
  8. Identify Opportunities: The District Manager will be responsible for identifying opportunities for growth and improvement within their district. This may include identifying potential new store locations, developing new sales strategies, or implementing new processes to

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Retail Management Role, Preferably As A District Or Regional Manager.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Ability To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team Of Store Managers.

  • Proven Track Record Of Meeting Sales And Profitability Goals Within A Multi-Store Environment.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Both Upper Management And Store Staff.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Retail Operations, Including Inventory Management, Merchandising, And Customer Service.
