Job Description

As a District Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and profitability for multiple store locations within your assigned district.   1. Oversee and manage the overall operations and performance of multiple store locations within the assigned district.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales and profitability within the district.
  3. Monitor and analyze sales and financial data to identify trends and make informed business decisions.
  4. Provide guidance and support to store managers to ensure consistent execution of company policies and procedures.
  5. Train, mentor, and develop store managers and associates to maximize their potential and achieve individual and district goals.
  6. Conduct regular store visits to assess performance, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as merchandising, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment and successful execution of company initiatives.
  8. Monitor and enforce compliance with all company and legal policies and regulations.
  9. Ensure proper staffing levels and talent development through effective recruitment, hiring, and training practices.
  10. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting open communication, recognizing and rewarding performance, and addressing any employee relations issues.
  11. Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  12. Represent the company in a professional manner and serve as a brand ambassador within the district and community.
  13. Manage and allocate district budgets and resources effectively to optimize performance and achieve financial objectives.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
  15. Maintain a high level of customer service and ensure all stores within the district are providing a positive shopping experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Leadership Skills: A District Manager At Big Lots Must Have Demonstrated Experience In Leading And Managing A Team Of Employees, Including Hiring, Training, And Coaching.

  • Retail Management Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Retail Management Role, Preferably In A Multi-Store Environment. This Includes Knowledge Of Merchandising, Inventory Management, And Sales Strategies.

  • Financial Acumen: A Strong Understanding Of Financial Management Is Critical For A District Manager At Big Lots. This Includes Budgeting, Forecasting, And Analyzing Financial Reports To Make Data-Driven Decisions For The District.
