
Category Manager, Procurement
As a Category Manager, Procurement at Big Lots, you will be responsible for the procurement of products to support our retail and eCommerce operations. You will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and executing agreements with suppliers to ensure that the business is meeting the needs of our customers. In addition, you will be responsible for working with internal stakeholders to ensure that the appropriate products are purchased and that the company’s goals and objectives are met.To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement or a related field. You should also have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as a deep understanding of the retail industry. Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and execute agreements with suppliers to ensure that the business is meeting customer needs.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that the appropriate products are purchased and the company’s goals and objectives are met.
- Review supply chain, procurement, and related strategies to ensure efficiency.
- Monitor market trends to ensure that the company is taking advantage of the best pricing and supply.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Analyze data to identify areas of improvement and suggest solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Analyze supplier contracts and create cost savings initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
