
Category Manager, Procurement
Are you a savvy and experienced Category Manager, Procurement, looking to join an innovative and exciting retail organization? Big Lots is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to lead, develop, and execute strategic procurement initiatives that will have a direct and positive impact on our customers and the organization. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization. We are looking for someone who is driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering results.To be considered for this position, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, as well as five or more years of experience in a procurement role. Experience in retail or consumer products is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic procurement initiatives that will have a direct and positive impact on customers and the organization.
- Identify and assess potential vendors and suppliers, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to identify opportunities and recommend changes to existing procurement processes.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage inventory levels of products to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze and report on key procurement metrics to senior leadership.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and increase profitability.
- Ensure timely delivery of products and services.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient procurement process.
