Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented, problem-solving individual with a passion for process optimization and an eye for value? We are looking for a Category Manager, Procurement at Big Lots who will be responsible for managing the strategic procurement, sourcing, and supply chain activities for the organization. This position requires a combination of analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and/or supply chain management. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful negotiation and cost savings initiatives, as well as a passion for making a difference. Responsibilities:

  1. Research, evaluate, and recommend potential vendors to ensure cost savings and quality standards are met.
  2. Develop, maintain, and execute strategic sourcing plans for various categories of goods and services.
  3. Negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure the best terms and competitive pricing.
  4. Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  5. Ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  6. Analyze market trends to identify cost savings opportunities.
  7. Develop and implement strategies for cost savings, process improvements, and risk management.
  8. Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate records.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.
  10. Provide regular reports on procurement activities and costs.
