
Category Manager, Procurement
We’re looking for a Category Manager to join the Procurement team at Big Lots and help drive our success into the future. This is a critical role that requires an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, a deep understanding of the industry, and a passion for delivering the best service to our customers. The ideal candidate for this role should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, contract negotiation, and vendor management, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. They should also have excellent analytical skills, a proven track record of driving results, and the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities:
- Analyze and negotiate procurement contracts with vendors.
- Manage relationships with existing vendors and develop relationships with potential vendors.
- Monitor and report on the performance of vendors.
- Develop and implement category management strategies to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvement.
- Regularly analyze pricing data and make adjustments to ensure competitiveness.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that procurement needs are met.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive category plans and strategies.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of vendor information.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual and legal obligations.
